What changed
Inspectors in the pilot county finished 1.6 more visits a day.
The brief
Fieldnote’s first version copied the paper form screen by screen. Inspectors used it for a week and went back to clipboards.
What we made
We rode along on 14 inspections before drawing a screen. The new app is built around the day, not the form: today’s sites, one tap to start, photos attached to the line they prove, and a report that writes itself from what was checked. A small component library in Figma and in SwiftUI keeps the four engineers moving without us.
What changed
In the pilot county, time on site fell from 40 to 22 minutes and inspectors finished 1.6 more visits a day.
